Two of the most important problems in circuit design are the extraction of parasitics and the physical verification, as a study recently clarified. The importance of the two items stems from the exponentially rising number of circuit elements, necessary to model the growing impact of parasitic effects on circuit performance.

 

We clearly see a disconnect between extraction tools and simulation tools. While the first generate more and more components in order to satisfy the accuracy requirements, the latter cannot cope with that amount of data any more.

 

Our task is to bridge the gap between extraction tools and simulation tools. EdXact provides high-precision, high-performance technology for backend physical verification. By ensuring accuracy, together with a substantial decrease in simulation time, circuit designers are now able to gain time and confidence in the results of backend verification.
